8 Feb, 2010. LISMORE Cup winner Whirly Storm is on the comeback trail ... we think. Breeder, part-owner and trainer Reg Hazelgrove said he had put the Black Enforcer-Cyclone Chrissy bitch back into training. "She injured the tendon bear the stopper bone," said Reg. "But if she comes on season, she will immediately be retired to stud." He said he would slowly bring Whirly Storm back to racing and was likely to give her a few races up Capalaba to get her to peak fitness. Hazelgrove said he was interested to see the early stock of Made To Size racing and was thinking about putting Whirly Storm to him when she comes on season. Made To Size (Surf Lorian-Queen Size) had three heat winners in the opening round of the Vince Curry series at Ipswich on Saturday night. One was out of Real Macoy, a half sister to Whirly Storm. Hazelgrove also has Whirly Storm's sister Slick Candy back in training after an injury. "But we've retired Strong Breeze their other sister and she is in pup to Trewly Special," he said. He and wife Noela have a repeat mating of Black Enforcer-Cyclone Chrissy being broken in now. "They are going as good at this stage at the first mating," he said. Blonzella, a sister to Real Macoy, has a nine month old litter by Irish stud dog Premier Fantasy. "Noisiest pups we've ever had," said Reg. "Blonzella will probably go to Made To Size for her next mating. I've heard all the wraps about the Made To Size-Real Macoy pups." He is also excited about a litter of Black Framed-Magenta Rose pups. "They have a fantastic nature," he said. "We've just put them into the kennels and I'm singing their praises. "He could make a sire if he got a chance." Black Framed is the record-breaking brother to Whirly Storm, Strong Breeze and Slick Candy who has been plagused by injury in recent times. * GARDENS track record breaker Beauty State (Black Enforcer-Lil Jeanie) has whelped her first litter, five dogs and four bitches to a mating to Elite State. Some of the pups will be for sale at weaning. Contact Troy Sharpe.
