Monday Run of the Night

Congratulations to  Flamingo Flyer  and trainer Tony Zammit for winning The Mad Chinaman’s Restaurant run of the night for Monday 17 April. A good night for the trainer and the litter with Flamingo Flyer’s litter brother, Barrio Blade winning the Anzac Day Trophy.

Ipswich Auction

Congratulations to Greg, Michelle and Rylee Stella on the win of Rylee’s Revenge in the final of the Ipswich Auction Series on Tuesday night. It is a mighty effort for a dog to get through this series and win – and it couldn’t happen to a nicer family! The Stella’s have had success at Albion Park of recent weeks with Rylee’s Raider chalking up 3 wins and 3 placings over the past month.

Token Jet

The Jet keeps on winning. The winning sequence is now 7 consecutive top grade races on a Thursday night and he lines up for number 8 from the red box tonight. His run has had many people searching back through the record books

Winter Carnival – Group 1 Nights

The VIP Petfoods Gold Cup Final will be held on 8 June and the Garrards Horse and Hound Winter Carnival Cup Final on 20 July.  We are planning two spectacular nights both on and off the track.

Silks will be open on both nights providing an excellent smorgasbord dinner and a great view of the nights’ racing. We need the support of the greyhound industry to ensure that we can maintain the viability of opening Silks on these occasions. The cost will be $32.50 per person. Bookings are essential – please phone 3262 2044 ASAP to reserve your table.  The menu for the night is attached to today’s Albion Angle.

There will be plenty of entertainment on both nights, with the Gold Cup being themed around “A Magic Night“.  While we’re certain of seeing plenty of magic on the track, the off track entertainment will include roving magicians, The Phoenix Fire Tribe, kids entertainers, a jumping castle, the Afghan Hounds racing, raffles and more.

The Winter Carnival Cup night will have a “Carnivale” atmosphere with circus performers, jumping castle and more to be announced.

We plan to make these nights a highlight of your racing calendar. Please tell your friends and organise a table or two in Silks and make a big night of it.
