Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 30th of April 2010 in relation to the urine sample numbered 290636 taken from the greyhound “ASTRAL JAZZY” which competed on the 22nd of February 2010 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 1 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the prohibited substances Nandrolone, 19-noretiocholanolone, 19-norepiandrosterone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Michael Tharle of Redland Bay to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Tharle.

Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance

Mr. Tharle pleaded guilty as charged.

Mr. Tharle was suspended for 3 months and fined $1500.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “ASTRAL JAZZY” under R 83 (5)(a) from Race 1 (placed 1st, heat) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 22nd of February 2010 and subsequently under R83 (5)(b) from Race 3 (placed 5th, final) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 1st of March 2010.

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Mr. Tharle was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
