STEWARDS PRESENT: D.M.Ryan CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS
C.McLune
BOARD STEWARD
Stewards opened an Inquiry at 10.00am in relation to
the urine sample numbered 230089 taken from the greyhound
“BANKER EXPRESS” which competed on the 3rd
of January 2006 at the Gold Coast Greyhound Club Meeting
in Race 2 placed 8th and subsequently returned positive
to the drug Quinine.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Robert Essex to appear.
Documentation was received through the Racing Science
Centre from Analytical Services in Melbourne the Laboratory
responsible for conducting the referee analysis.
Testing on the second urine sample numbered 230089, and
control solution numbered 230089, indicated that the drug
Quinine was not detected in the urine sample or the control
solution.
All samples taken from greyhounds found to contain a
drug in Queensland must have two independent Certificates
of analysis confirming the presence of a drug before a
sample can be declared positive.
As a second Certificate was not available the matter
cannot be considered further and the Stewards Inquiry
will take no further action.
