Stewards Inquiry 4th September 2006

Stewards open an Inquiry in relation to the Urine Sample Number 233376 taken from the greyhound BURRUM TOWN MISS which competed on the 15th July 2006 at Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club meeting in Race 8, BURRUM TOWN MISS subsequently returned positive to the drugs Caffeine, Paraxanthine, Theobromine and Theophylline.

Stewards heard the inquiry in the absence of Mr Leo Groth the Trainer of BURRUM TOWN MISS at his request.

Mr. Groth passed on submissions and a plea of guilt to the stewards.
Stewards, after hearing submissions charged Mr L Groth under
GAR Rule 122, which states:
The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an event shall produce the greyhound for the event free of any drug.

Stewards accepted the plea of guilty to the charge.

Mr. Groth was disqualified for 6 months, which will expire 4th March 2007. Mr L Groth was also fined the sum of $500. The greyhound BURRUM TOWN MISS was disqualified from Race 8 at the Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club meeting on 15th July 2006.

Mr. Groth is directly to return the prizemoney to the Greyhound Racing Authority.

Mr. Groth has been notified in writing regarding his appeal rights.
