Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 11th of September 2009 in relation to the urine sample numbered 279908 taken from the greyhound “BLACK BAHAMA” which competed on the 8th of July 2009 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 10 (placed 6th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Kenneth Yates of Bundaberg to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Yates.

Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance  
 
Mr. Yates pleaded guilty as charged.
Mr. Yates was suspended for 2 months and fined $500.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “BLACK BAHAMA” under R 83 (4) from Race 10 (placed 6th) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 8th of July 2009.

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Mr. Yates was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
