Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 13th of May 2010 in relation to the urine sample numbered 289110 taken from the greyhound “BLACK AND FLASHY” which competed on the 13th of February 2010 at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club in Race 1 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the prohibited substance Pentobarbitone.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Neil Catchpole of Jimboomba to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Catchpole, Dr John Murray, Dr Bruce Young and Stipendiary Steward James Bauer.
Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance
Mr. Catchpole pleaded not guilty as charged.
Mr. Catchpole was found guilty as charged.
Mr. Catchpole was fined $1000.
Stewards disqualified the greyhound “BLACK AND FLASHY” under R 83 (4) from Race 1 (placed 1st) at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club meeting held on the 13th of February 2010.
Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.
Mr. Catchpole was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
