STEWARDS PRESENT: D.M.RYAN CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS

Stewards convened an Inquiry at 10.00pm in relation to
the urine sample numbered 252100 and 252516 taken from
the greyhound “CRESCENT BLACKIE” which competed
on the 13th of July 2007 and 20th July 2007 at the Brisbane
Greyhound Racing Club in Race 10 (placed 7th) and in Race
3 (placed 7th) and subsequently returned positive to the
drugs Caffeine, Theobromine, Paraxanathine and Theophylline
on both occasions.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Colin Nowlan of Woodridge
to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Trainer Mr. Nowlan and Mr.
Timothy Billin.
Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122, which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mr. Nowlan pleaded guilty.
Mr. Nowlan was suspended for 2 months and fined $500.
Mr. Nowlan’s penalty commences at midnight on the
31st of August 2007.
Stewards disqualified the greyhound “CRESCENT BLACKIE”
under GAR 124 (1) from Race 10 (placed 7th) and Race 3
(placed 7th) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting
on the 13th and 20th of July 2007.
Mr. Nowlan was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
