Stewards reconvened the Inquiry opened on the 22nd of
March 2007 at
2.30 p.m. in relation to the urine sample numbered 243437
taken from the greyhound “LADY CHAMBERS” which
competed on the 24th of January 2007 at the Gold Coast
Greyhound Club in Race 9 (placed 1st) and subsequently
returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Roan Enright of Marsden
to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Trainer Roan Enright.
Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122, which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mr. Enright pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Enright was found guilty as charged.
Mr. Enright was suspended for 3 months and fined $500.
The greyhound “LADY CHAMBERS” was disqualified
from Race 9 (placed 1st) at the Gold Coast Greyhound Racing
Club meeting on the 24th January 2007.
Connections were directed to return the prize money to
the Greyhound Racing Authority.
Mr. Enright was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
