STEWARDS PRESENT: Z. BRYSON (Acting Chairman of Stewards)

Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 31st of August 2009 in relation to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of the greyhound “DEAGON CHARMER” from Race 9 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting held on Friday the 21st August 2009.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Leonard Sutcliffe of Deagon to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Sutcliffe.
Stewards charged the Trainer under R 86 (o) which states;
A person (including an official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person-
(o) has, in relation to a greyhound or greyhound racing, done a thing, or omitted to do a thing, which, in the opinion of the Stewards or the Controlling Body, as the case may be, is negligent, dishonest, corrupt, fraudulent or improper, or constitutes misconduct
Mr. Sutcliffe pleaded guilty to the charged.
Mr. Sutcliffe was fined $250.
Mr. Sutcliffe was read his rights of appeal at the conclusion of the inquiry.
