Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the circumstances that surrounded an incident involving staff at the Trainers entrance gate at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 2nd June 2009.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. D. Gilroy of Murwillumbah to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Mr. Gilroy and Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club employee Mr. David Sigston along with a written exhibit from Christi Ann Lombe.
As a result Stewards charged Mr. Gilroy under Rule 86 (f) (iv)
A person (including an official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person – (f) engages in, publishes or causes to be published, broadcast, or causes to be broadcasts, the use of any contemptuous, unseemly, improper, insulting, or offensive language, conduct or behaviour in any manner or form towards, or in relation to (iv) any other person having official duties in relation to greyhound racing.
Mr. Gilroy pleaded guilty as charged.
Mr. Gilroy was fined $100 and officially warned.
Mr. Gilroy was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
