Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to a complaint
lodged by Ms. Anne-Marie Rayward concerning the circumstances
which surrounded an incident at the Capalaba Greyhound
Racing Club on Saturday the 3rd of November 2007
Stewards directed Mr. Donald McKinnon, of Arundel to
appear.
Stewards also accepted evidence from Judge Ms. Anne-Marie
Rayward,
Steward Mrs. Gail Thorsby, Race Broadcaster Mr. Paul Luca,
Mr. Noel Thompson and Cameraman Mr. Dean Fewtrell along
with a number of written submissions.
As a result Stewards charged Mr. McKinnon under GAR
125(1) (f) (iv), which states: Any Person (including an
Official) who; engages in, publishes or causes to be published
broadcasts or causes to be broadcast, the use of any contemptuous,
unseemly, improper, insulting, or offensive language,
conduct or behavior in any manner or form, or in relation
to (iv) any other person having official duties in relation
to greyhound racing.
Mr. McKinnon pleaded not guilty.
Mr. McKinnon was found guilty as charged.
Mr. McKinnon was fined $1000.
$750 was then suspended for 12 months for Mr. McKinnon
to be of good behaviour for the 12 months period and to
pay $250.
Mr. McKinnon was read his Rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
