Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of Trainer
Kevin Galloway when present during a hearing in the Stewards
Room at the meeting conducted by the Brisbane Greyhound
Racing Club on 24th March 2006.
Mr. Galloway was directed to appear at the inquiry.
After taking evidence from Mr. Galloway and Stewards
S. McGrath, G. Small and J. Muir, who officiated at the
meeting, Mr. Galloway was charged under GAR Rule
125(1)(f)(i) which states: Any person (including an official)
who: engages in, publishes or causes to be published,
broadcasts or causes to be broadcast, the use of any contemptuous,
unseemly, improper, insulting, or offensive language,
conduct or behaviour in any manner or form towards or
in relation to a Steward, shall be guilty of a offence
and liable to a penalty pursuant to Rule 131.
The specifics of the charge related to alleged improper
conduct.
Mr. Galloway, who pleaded not guilty, was found guilty
as charged and was suspended for 6 months, with the suspension
wholly suspended conditional on Mr. Galloway not being
convicted of an offence of a like nature during that period,
and fined $500.
Mr. Galloway was informed of his rights of appeal.
