Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to a complaint lodged by Mr. Arthur Gosper concerning the circumstances which surrounded an incident at the Cairns Greyhound Racing Club on Saturday the 10h of November 2007.

Stewards directed Mr. George Tsakissiris, Mr. Arthur Gosper, Mr. Lester Miles and Club Secretary Mrs. Debbie Tannock to appear.

Stewards also accepted evidence from Trainer’s Mr. Kevin Wheeler, Mr. Denis Godfrey, Mr. Gregory Manski and Mrs. Takissiris, along with a number of written submissions.

As a result Stewards charged Mr. Tsakissiris under GAR 125(1) (f)(iv), which states: Any Person (including an Official) who; engages in, publishes or causes to be published broadcasts or causes to be broadcast, the use of any contemptuous, unseemly, improper, insulting, or offensive language, conduct or behavior in any manner or form, or in relation to (iv) any other person having official duties in relation to greyhound racing.

Mr. Tsakissiris pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Tsakissiris was found guilty as charged.

Mr. Tsakissiris was disqualified for 12 months and fined $500.The 12 months disqualification was then suspended for 12 months for Mr. Tsakissiris to be of good behaviour for the 12 months period.

Mr. Tsakissiris was read his Rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
