Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 29th May 2009 in relation to the urine sample numbered 274765 taken from the greyhound “GLENFARCLAS” which competed on the 11th of April 2009 at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club in Race 8 (placed 3rd) and subsequently returned positive to the drug’s Caffeine, Theobromine, Theophylline and Paraxanathine.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. B. Millard of Morayfield to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Millard along with a number of written submission.
Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug
Mr. Millard pleaded guilty.
Mr. Millard was fined $500.
Stewards disqualified the greyhound “GLENFARCLAS” under R 83 (4) from Race 8 (placed 3rd) at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 11th of April 2009. Any Prizemoney resulting from that race must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.
Mr. Millard was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
Local Rule 26(QLD)= unless the Authority determines otherwise-
- a greyhound trained on or at premises at which a disqualified or suspended person resides shall not be eligible to compete in any event;
- a greyhound owned or trained by a disqualified or suspended person as at the date of the suspension or disqualification or at any time since the date of the offence resulting in the suspension or disqualification, shall not during the period of suspension or disqualification be owned or trained by the spouse or partner of the suspended or disqualified person or by any person who resides at the premises at which the suspended or disqualified person resides.
