Stewards opened an Inquiry at 10.30am in relation to
the urine samples numbered 238188 taken from the greyhound
“RAPID TOTO” which competed on the 19th of
September 2006 at the Gold Coast Greyhound Club Meeting
in Race 6 (placed 1st) and urine Sample numbered 239497
taken from the greyhound “TRAVEL BOY” which
competed on the 11th of October 2006 at the Gold Coast
Greyhound Racing Club in Race 2 (placed 4th) and both
Samples subsequently returned positive to the drug Salbutamol.
Stewards directed Trainer Mrs. G.Harris of Carbrook to
appear.
Stewards took evidence from Trainer Mrs. G.Harris and
written submissions from Dr. Celeste Howarth M.B.Ch.B.FRACGP
and Dr. J.Murray.
Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122 which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mrs. Harris pleaded guilty as charged.
Mrs. Harris was Suspended for a period of 6 month and
Suspended the Penalty.
The greyhounds “RAPID TOTO ” was disqualified
from Race 6 at the Gold Coast Greyhound Racing Club meeting
on the 19th of September 2006 and “TRAVEL BOY”
was disqualified from Race 2 at the Gold Cast Racing Club
meeting on the 11th of October 2006.
Connections were directed to return the prizemoney to
the Greyhound Racing Authority.
Mrs. Harris has her rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
