On 2nd December 2009 stewards opened an inquiry into a written complaint by trainer W. Kempshall against trainer N. Goodwin.

Stewards took extensive evidence from both trainers and a number of witnesses.

After hearing all the evidence stewards charged trainer N. Goodwin under the provisions of Rule 86q of the Rules of Greyhound Racing in that he did act in a manner which was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club’s trails on 5th November 2009.

Mr Goodwin was found guilty of the charge and was fined the sum of $200.

Similarly trainer W. Kempshall was charged under the provisions of Rule 86q of the Rules of Greyhound Racing in that he did act in a manner which was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club’s trails on 5th November 2009.

Mr Kempshall pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $200.
