Stewards opened an Inquiry at 2.15 p.m. in relation to
the urine sample numbered 244558 taken from the greyhound
“JET RINK” which competed on the 3rd of February
2007 at the Capalaba Greyhound Club in Race 2 (placed
1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Theobromine.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Jeffrey Garrick to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Trainer Jeffrey Garrick.
Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122, which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mr. Garrick pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Garrick was found guilty as charged.
Mr. Garrick was fined $250.
The greyhound “JET RINK” was disqualified
from Race 2 at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club meeting
on the 3rd of February 2007.
Connections were directed to return the prize money to
the Greyhound Racing Authority.
Mr. Garrick was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
