Stewards opened an Inquiry at 1.30pm in relation to the
urine sample numbered 242668 taken from the greyhound
“CASH UP FRONT” which competed on the 12th
of December 2006 at the Ipswich Greyhound Club Meeting
in Race 2 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive
to the drug Dexamethasone.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. John Pay of Park Ridge
to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Trainer Mr. Pay.
Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122 which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mr. Pay pleaded guilty as charged.
Mr. Pay was suspended for a period of 3 months and fined
$500.
The greyhound “CASH UP FRONT ” was disqualified
from Race 2 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting
on the 12th of December 2006.
Connections were directed to return the prizemoney to
the Greyhound Racing Authority.
Mr. Pay was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
