Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 17th January 2009 in relation to the urine sample numbered 268500 taken from the greyhound “LITTLE ITALIAN” which competed on the 16th of October 2008 at the Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club in Race 5 (placed 5th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Betamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. A. Svensen of Rockhampton to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Svensen, Club Steward Mr. J. Lippett along with a number of written submission.
The Inquiry was subsequently adjourned to seek further information sought by Mr. Svensen.
The Inquiry reconvened on Monday the 23rd of February.
Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug  
Mr. Svensen pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Svensen was found guilty as charged
Mr. Svensen was Suspended for 3 months and fined $500.
Stewards disqualified the greyhound “LITTLE ITALIAN” under R 83 (4) from Race 5 (placed 5th) at the Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 16th of October 2008. Any prizemoney resulting from that race must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.
Mr. Svensen was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.

Local Rule 26(QLD)= unless the Authority determines otherwise-

1. a greyhound trained on or at premises at which a disqualified or suspended person resides shall not be eligible to compete in any event;
2. a greyhound owned or trained by a disqualified or suspended person as at the date of the suspension or disqualification or at any time since the date of the offence resulting in the suspension or disqualification, shall not during the period of suspension or disqualification be owned or trained by the spouse or partner of the suspended or disqualified person or by any person who resides at the premises at which the suspended or disqualified person resides.
