Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 8th & 18th of December 2009 in relation to the urine sample numbered 277092 taken from the greyhound “NOTTA WHISPER” which competed on the 15th of October 2009 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 2nd) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Ms. Margaret Quarrell of Strathpine to appear.
Evidence was taken from Ms. Quarrell and Mr Michael Cobb.

Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance  
 
Ms. Quarrell pleaded guilty as charged.

Ms. Quarrell was suspended for 2 months and fined $750.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “NOTTA WHISPER” under R 83 (4) from Race 4 (placed 2nd) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 15th of October 2009.

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Ms. Quarrell was read her rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.

Ms. Quarrell was advised of her obligations under Local Rule 26.
