Stewards convened an Inquiry in relation to the urine sample numbered 251995 taken from the greyhound “OVER QUOTED” which competed on the 15th September 2007 at the Cairns Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 4th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr Denis Godfrey of Tully to appear.

Stewards took evidence from Trainer Mr. Godfrey and a Statutory Declaration from Veterinary Surgeon Dr. D. H. Vieko.

Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122, which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Godfrey pleaded guilty.

Mr. Godfrey was Suspended for 2 months and fined $1000.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “OVER QUOTED” under GAR 124 (1) from Race 4 (placed 4th) at the Cairns Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 15th September 2007.

Mr. Godfrey was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
