Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 5th of March 2010 in relation to the urine sample numbered 287351 taken from the greyhound “POLDAR GEM” which competed on the 30th of December 2009 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club in Race 6 (placed 5th) and subsequently returned positive to the prohibited substance Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Peter Smith of Churchable to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Smith.

Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance  
 
Mr. Smith pleaded guilty as charged.

Mr. Smith was suspended for 3 months and fined $500.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “POLDAR GEM” under R 83 (4) from Race 6 (placed 5th) at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting held on the 30th of December 2009.

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Mr. Smith was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.

Mr. Smith was advised of his obligations under Local Rule 26.
