Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 9th & 12th of April 2010 in relation to the urine sample numbered 288588 taken from the greyhound “PICK THE SCORE” which competed on the 30th of December 2009 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 10 (placed 8th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug 6a-hydroxystanozolol.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Wayne Andrews of Strathpine to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Andrews.

Stewards charged the Trainer under R 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any prohibited substance

Mr. Andrews pleaded guilty as charged.

Mr. Andrews was suspended for a period of 6 months.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “PICK THE SCORE” under R 83 (4) from Race 10 (placed 8th) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 30th of December 2009.

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Mr. Andrews was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
