Stewards open an Inquiry in relation to the Urine Sample Number 233373 taken from the greyhound MINNIE’S MIXUP which competed on the 15TH July 2006 at Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club meeting in Race 6, MINNIE’S MIXUP subsequently returned positive to the drug Procaine.

Stewards took evidence from Trainer Mr. Rodney Leaver, Handler Miss Ashlee Leaver and considered written submissions.

As a result Mr. Leaver was charged under GAR Rule 122, which states:
The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an event shall produce the greyhound for the event free of any drug.

Mr. Leaver pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Mr. Leaver was found guilty as charged.

Mr. Leaver was fined the sum of $250 and the greyhound MINNIE’S MIXUP was disqualified from Race 6 at Bundaberg on the 15th July 2006.

Mr. Leaver was read his rights of appeal at the conclusion of the inquiry.
