Stewards opened an Inquiry at 10.30am in relation to the urine sample numbered 236317 taken from the greyhound “DEAGON STORM” which competed on the 31st of July 2006 at the Brisbane Greyhound Club Meeting in Race 2 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Diclofenac.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Len Sutcliffe of Deagon to appear.

Stewards took evidence from Mr. Sutcliffe.

Stewards charged Mr. Sutcliffe under GAR 122 which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Sutcliffe pleaded guilty as charged.

Mr. Sutcliffe was suspended for a period of 1 month commencing at midnight the 11th of September 2006.

The greyhound “DEAGON STORM” was disqualified from Race 2 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 31st of July 2006.

Connections were directed to return the prizemoney to the Greyhound Racing Authority.

Mr. Sutcliffe was notified of his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
