BOARD STEWARD
Stewards re-opened an Inquiry at 10.30am, adjourned from
the 13th of June 2006 in relation to the urine sample
number 232498 taken from the greyhound “TRICODE
STAR” which competed on the 3rd of May 2006 at the
Ipswich Greyhound Club Meeting in Race 1 which placed
1st and subsequently returned positive to the drug Procaine.
Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Glen Smith of Park Ridge
to appear.
Stewards took evidence from Mr. Smith, Racing Science
Centre Veterinary Surgeon Dr.E.B.Young and Racing Science
Centre Analyst Mr.M.Jarrett.
Stewards charged Mr. Smith under GAR 122 which
states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound
for the Event free of any drug.
Mr. Smith pleaded guilty as charged.
Mr. Smith was fined $1000.
The greyhound “TRICODE STAR” was disqualified
from Race 1 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting
on the 3rd of May.
Connections were directed to return the prize money to
the
Greyhound Racing Authority.
Mr. Smith was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
