Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the circumstances surrounding the training of greyhounds “SPEEDY BURRITO” and “DARING DAISY” at the Cairns Greyhound Racing Club meeting’s over the last approximate three month period.

Stewards directed handler Mr. R. Johnston of White Rock to appear along with Trainers M. Lewis of White Rock and J. Whiticker of Jamisontown in NSW.

The Inquiry accepted a submission from Senior Steward Investigations Mr. Z. Bryson which resulted in the Inquiry being called.

Stewards took evidence from Mr. Johnston.
Mr. Lewis was not required to give evidence.
Mr. Whiticker failed to appear and provided no acceptable reason.

As a result of the Stewards Inquiry Mr. Johnston and Mr. Lewis were given the benefit of a very grave doubt and warned a repeat would find them dealt with by the Rules.
Stewards ordered that no nominations would be accepted for any greyhounds owned or trained by Mr. Whiticker until he clearly established their Training bona fides in Queensland.LR35 (8)
