Stewards convened an Inquiry at 1.00pm in relation to the urine sample numbered 244940 taken from the greyhound “WILD JUVANTE” which competed on the 15th of February 2007 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 8 (placed 7th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Robert Dempsey of Walloon to appear.

Stewards took evidence from Trainer Robert Dempsey.

Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 122, which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Dempsey pleaded guilty.

Mr. Dempsey was suspended for 3 months and fined $500.

The greyhound “WILD JUVANTE” was disqualified from Race 8 (placed 7th) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 15th February 2007.

Mr. Dempsey was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
