Stewards convened an inquiry on the 12th September 2008 in relation to the urine sample numbered 264707 taken from the greyhound “BRONSAN MISS” which competed on the 4th August 2008 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 3 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Theobromine.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Barry Morris of Lowood to appear.

Evidence was taken from Mr. Morris.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Morris pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Morris was found guilty as charged.

Mr. Morris was fined $250.

Stewards disqualified the greyhounds “BRONSAN MISS” under GAR 83 (4) from Race 3 (placed 1st) at the Brisbane greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 4th August 2008.

Mr. Morris was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the inquiry.
