Stewards convened an Inquiry at 2.30pm in relation to the urine sample numbered 250803 taken from the greyhound “LATE EDITION” which competed on the 4th of June 2007 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 7 (placed 5th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Dexamethasone.

Stewards directed trainer Mr. Robert Belford of Logan Village to appear.

Stewards took evidence from trainer Robert Belford.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 122, which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Belford pleaded guilty.

Mr. Belford was suspended for 2 months and fined $750.

The greyhound “LATE EDITION” was disqualified under GAR 124 (1) from Race 7 (placed 5th) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 4th June 2007.

Mr. Belford was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
