Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 25th of January 2008 in relation to the urine sample numbered 253235 taken from the greyhound “GENISTA PRINCE” which competed on the 6th of December 2007 at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club in Race 10 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Flunixin.

Stewards directed Trainer Ms. Robynne Black of South Johnston to appear.

Stewards took evidence from trainer Ms. Robynne Black who was assisted by Mrs. Pauline Fruend along with a number of written submissions.

Stewards charged Ms. Black under GAR 122 which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Ms. Black pleaded not guilty.

Ms. Black was found guilty as charged.

Ms. Black was suspended for a period of 2 months and fined $1000.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound “GENISTA PRINCE” under GAR 124 (1) from Race 10 (placed 1st) at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 6th of December 2007.

Ms. Black was directed to return the prizemoney from the Townsville win to the Greyhound Racing Authority.

Ms. Black was read her rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
