Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the failure of Mr. Paul Cauchi to renew his trainers licence at the due date of June 30 2007.
Mr. Cauchi indicated he did not receive a renewal notice as posted to all licencees in Queensland prior to the date it expired on June 30.
Mr. Cauchi raced greyhounds at Grafton on the 7, 11, 14 of July and again on the 19th of July at Brisbane before renewing on the 23rd of July 2007.

Stewards accepted evidence from trainer Mr. Paul Cauchi.

As a result Stewards charged Mr. Cauchi under GAR 125(1)(l), which states: Any person (including an Official) who; being a person who is not registered with the Board/Commission or an approved Registration Board/Commission as a greyhound trainer, acts or holds himself out as a trainer of a greyhound entitled or intended to compete in an Event.

Mr. Cauchi pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Cauchi was found guilty as charged.

Mr. Cauchi was fined $200.

Mr. Cauchi was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
