Stewards convened an Inquiry at 11.00am in relation to the urine sample numbered 247872 taken from the greyhound “LONESOME ROAD” which competed on the 12th of April 2007 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 9 (placed 2nd) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Methylprednisolone.

Stewards directed trainer Mr. Reg Gardoll of Iluka to appear.

Stewards took evidence from trainer Reg Gardoll and a written submission from Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Gary Carter.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 122, which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Gardoll pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Gardoll was fined $500.

The greyhound “LONESOME ROAD” was disqualified under GAR 124 (1) from Race 9 (placed 2nd) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 12th April 2007.

Mr. Gardoll was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
