STEWARDS PRESENT: D.M.RYAN CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS
C. McCLUNE CHIEF STEWARD INVESTIGATIONS
Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the circumstances
which surrounded an incident at the Rockhampton Greyhound
Racing Club on Saturday 9th February 2008.
Stewards directed Chief Steward Mr. Laurie Fraser and
licensee Mr. Brian Goodman to appear.
Stewards accepted evidence and submissions from Mr. Fraser,
Mr. Goodman, Mr. Jeffrey Kuhl and Mrs. Christine Pollard.
As a result, Stewards charged Mr. Goodman under GAR
86(a)(f) (i) which states: A person (including and Official)
shall be guilty of an offence if the person (a) contravenes
any of these Rules (f) engages in, publishes or causes
to be published, broadcasts, the use of any contemptuous,
unseemly, improper, insulting, or offensive language,
conduct or behaviour in any manner or form towards, or
in relation to (i) a Steward.
Mr. Goodman pleaded guilty.
Mr. Goodman was suspended for 3 months and fined $500.
Mr. Goodman was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
