Stewards convened an inquiry on the 10th October 2008 in relation to the urine sample numbered 264817 taken from the greyhound “FOUR EX FEVER” which competed on the 12th August 2008 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Hydroxyzstanazolo.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Kerry Halls of Flinders View to appear.

Evidence was taken from Mr. Halls.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Halls pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Halls was suspended for 6 months and fined $750.

Stewards disqualified the greyhounds “FOUR EX FEVER” under GAR 83 (5) (a) (b) from Race 4 heat (placed 1st) at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 12th August 2008 and from the final on 19th August Race 8 (placed 4th).

Prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

Mr. Halls was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the inquiry.
