STEWARDS PRESENT: D.M.RYAN CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS
C. McCLUNE CHIEF STEWARD INVESTIGATIONS
Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the circumstances
which surrounded an incident at the Rockhampton Greyhound
Racing Club on Saturday 9th February 2008.
Stewards directed Club President Mr. Jeffrey Kuhl, licensees
Mr. William Boon and Mr. William Boon Snr to appear.
Stewards accepted evidence and submissions from all three
persons.
As a result Stewards charged Mr. Kuhl and Mr. Boon under
GAR 86(a)(q) which states: A person (including
and Official) shall be guilty of an offence if the person
(a) contravenes any of these Rules (q) commits or omits
to do any act or engages in conduct which is in any way
detrimental or prejudical to the interest, welfare, image,
control or promotion of greyhound racing.
Mr. Kuhl pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Boon pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Kuhl was found guilty as charged.
Mr. Boon was found guilty as charged.
Mr. Kuhl was fined $500, with $250 suspended providing
Mr. Kuhl was of good behaviour for a period of 12 months.
Mr. Boon was issued with an Official Warning.
Mr. Boon Snr was not charged, however he was also warned
and reminded of his obligations as a licenced person.
Mr. Kuhl was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion
of the Inquiry.
