Stewards convened an Inquiry at 11.00am in relation to the urine sample numbered 248531 taken from the greyhound “YORKLEE TOWN” which competed on the 25th of April 2007 at the Gold Coast Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 8th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Methylprednisolone.

Stewards directed trainer Mr. Anthony Marras of Yorklea to appear.

Stewards took evidence from trainer Anthony Marras.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 122, which states: The Owner, Trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall produce the greyhound for the Event free of any drug.

Mr. Marras pleaded guilty.

Mr. Marras was fined $500.

The greyhound “YORKLEE TOWN” was disqualified under AR 124 (1) from Race 4 (placed 8th) at the Gold Coast Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 25th April 2007.

Mr. Marras was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
