Stewards convened an Inquiry on the 12th of September 2008 in relation to the urine sample numbered 263790 taken from the greyhound “BURN ME UP” which competed on the 19th of July 2008 at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club in Race 6 (placed 7th) and subsequently returned positive to the drug’s Caffeine, Theobromine, Theophylline and Paraxanathine.
Stewards also inquired into urine sample numbered 264092 taken from the greyhound “SEE THE SEA” which competed on the 24th of July 2008 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club in Race 9 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug’s Caffeine, Theobromine, Theophylline and Paraxanathine.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. Jackson Morris of Albion to appear.
Evidence was taken from Mr. Morris.

Stewards charged the Trainer under GAR 83 (2)(a)(d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an Event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Morris pleaded guilty to both charges.

Mr. Morris was suspended for 3 months on both charges and fined $750.
The periods of suspension are to be served concurrently.
The penalty applied to Mr. Morris will commence at midnight 12th of September 2008.

Stewards disqualified the greyhounds “BURN ME UP and SEE THE SEA” under GAR 83 (4) from Race 6 (placed 7th) at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 19th of July 2008 and “SEE THE SEA” from Race 9 (placed 1st) at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 24th of July 2008.

Mr. Morris was read his rights of Appeal at the conclusion of the Inquiry.
