The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1

EL PERRO was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn EIRE CADET and ICONIC SURF were tightened for room .HONEYSUCKLE ROSE ran wide making the 1st turn and took NO LIFESAVERS very wide on the track which resulted in both runners to lose significant ground.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion EL PERRO shifted ground outwards and bumped HONEYSUCKLE ROSE which became unbalanced.  A short distance later EL PERRO and ICONIC SURF bumped.

 

Race 2

KIM’S TEDDY jumped away awkwardly and lost significant ground.  SPEAR OF DESTINY and LONG TIME GONE were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start FOUR WAY SPIRIT shifted ground inwards and bumped heavily with KIRALEE ZIP which resulted in KIRALEE ZIP to become unbalanced and lose ground.  On the 1st turn KIRALEE ZIP shifted ground outwards and checked FOUR WAY SPIRIT.

 

Race 3

SAMBUCCO and BLUEDALE were both slow to begin.  BRILLIANT COVER shifted ground outwards shortly after the start and hampered both EL ZAPATO and MORGAN TRICK.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion SAM BEAU STANLEY was severely checked when tightened for room between BRILLIANT COVER and SMOKEY GIRL which shifted ground outwards.  A short distance later BRILLIANT COVER shifted ground outwards and bumped BLUEDALE.  Approaching the 630m boxes SAM BEAU STANLEY was checked when tightened for room by SAMBUCCO which shifted ground inwards.  At the same stage when racing in a rearward position SMOKEY GIRL and BLUEDALE bumped resulting in both runners to lose ground.

 

Race 4

ABSOLUTE CLASSIC, ATLANTA BRAVE and JESSIE’S BOUY were all slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ABSOLUTE CLASSIC shifted ground outwards and hampered ATLANTA BRAVE and JESSIE’S BOUY.  On the turn out of the home straight OAKEY FLATS shifted ground and bumped CALL ME CHARRO.  Approaching the catching pen HIGHWAY HOLLY shifted ground outwards abruptly and severely checked both OAKEY FLATS and CALL ME CHARRO.

 

Race 5

PUZZLE STATE, WINEM LORELAI and DIAMOND GLOW were all slow to begin.  Shortly after the start WINEM LORELAI shifted ground outwards and bumped DIAMOND GLOW.  On the 1st turn both HANSON ROUGHIE and JAN’S REVENGE were checked and as a result lost some ground.  Passing the catching pen HANSON ROUGHIE was checked and lost significant ground when tightened for room between WINEM LORELAI and DIAMOND GLOW both of which shifted ground.  Passing the 630m boxes BUMPER’S SMILE was checked after being tightened for room by JAN’S REVENGE which shifted inwards.  Over the concluding stages GO WILD KATE and BRUMBY’S RUN bumped resulting in both runners to become unbalanced.

 

Race 6

FUNKY BOY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start WILD SILENCE and MIDNIGHT MADNESS bumped on a number of occasions resulting in both runners to become unbalanced and lose ground.  On the 1st turn with the exception of FLYING COUGAR all other runners were involved in a general scrimmage resulting in all runners to lose ground.  Passing the 630m boxes WINEM ENERGIZER was tightened for room by VIVACIOUS VICTOR which shifted inwards.  PICKETT’S CHARGE ran wide making the home turn.

 

Race 7

PUMP IT UP and LUCKY ALIVE were both slow to begin.  IRON STEED was checked shortly after the start On the turn out of the home straight both ULTRA SWIFT and PUMP IT UP ran wide resulting in both runners to lose ground.  At the same stage IRON STEED checked off the heels of WITHEREN’S GIRL and lost some ground.  Passing the catching pen WITHEREN’S GIRL shifted ground inwards and severely checked IRON STEED, which then shifted ground outwards and collided heavily with LUCKY ALIVE resulting in both runners to lose significant ground.  Approaching the 630m boxes ULTRA SWIFT was checked after being tightened for room by LUCKY ALIVE which shifted in.  IRON STEED which was following also suffered some interference as a consequence.  Shortly after entering the home straight GOZO SMILE shifted ground outwards and brushed WITHEREN’S GIRL which resulted in WITHEREN’S GIRL to become unbalanced.  Over the concluding stages PUMP IT UP and EL GALO bumped.

 

Race 8

Shortly after the start KIM’S DINGO and ELITE LADY bumped on a number of occasions.  A short distance later ROYAL ROAD, PERFECT ONE and HOGGA were all tightened for room .Passing the 630m boxes NELLIE THERE was checked and lost significant ground.

 

Race 9

BEST INTENTION shifted ground outwards at the start and checked FREE CHEERS.  A short distance later BEST INTENTION continued to shift ground outwards and hampered both KIND OF SWEET and UNDER FOOT.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion SAWADI broke down and took no further competitive part in the event.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion BARKELL BABY commenced to ease and did so for some distance and at a point near the top turn took no further part in the event.  Passing the catching pen DIAMOND BELLA shifted ground outwards and checked KIND OF SWEET.  Passing the 630m boxes FREE CHEERS checked off the heels of UNDER FOOT and lost ground.  A veterinary examination subsequent to the event revealed SAWADI to be injured in the near hip support and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.  A veterinary examination of BARKELL BABY revealed no abnormalities.  Trainer Mr. Craig Campbell was advised that the greyhound would be stood down for a period of 28 days and would have to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to nominating.

 

Race 10

BEACHIE SAND was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MICALAS’ CARNAGE, SOUTHERN FLASH and HE’S FLYIN’ were all tightened for room as a result of JOSTLING JOSEPH shifting ground outwards and SEE THE SEA shifting ground inwards.  On the 1st turn BEACHIE SAND, JOSTLING JOSEPH and MICALAS’ CARNAGE were all tightened for room .SOUTHERN FLASH which was following checked off the heels of MICALAS’ CARNAGE and lost significant ground.  Passing the 630m boxes HE’S FLYIN’ shifted ground outwards and hampered BEACHIE SAND.  HESWALL HONEY ran wide making the home turn.
