VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 4             SOUTH WESTERLY              Injured in running, near side chest muscle, 10 days

 

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1

CHAI shifted in sharply at the start checking the running of NELLIE NELLA.  FLAMING TANGO was slow to begin.  GYPSY MOTH and NELLIE NELLA were tight and bumping after the start.  Entering the back straight GYPSY MOTH checked off the heels of OUR KAWATI losing ground.  Passing the 630m boxes CHAI galloped on the heels of TELLURIUM SWAGE.  TELLURIUM SWAGE lost ground.  TELLURIUM SWAGE was then checked by FLAMING TANGO.  Approaching the home turn NELLIE NELLA caught its muzzle in TELLURIUM SWAGE’s rug.  Both greyhounds became unbalanced losing significant ground.

 

The greyhound TELLURIUM SWAGE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 2

WHERE’S WITHALL was slow to begin.  PADDY’S DIAMOND and AMBROSE CRUMP were tight and bumping after the start.  Entering the back straight IMA OCTANE galloped on the heels of PERFECT GAL.  PERFECT GAL lost ground.  PERFECT GAL galloped on the heels of DOUBLE IMPACT in the back straight.  In the home straight over the concluding stages AMBROSE CRUMP was shifting in on PADDY’S DIAMOND with both greyhounds racing tight.

 

Race 3

LAKODA GOLD was slow to begin.  TEE CAHILL shifted out after the start checking the running of NASHO GEOFF who then shifted out on WHAT A JIMTRIK and LAKODA GOLD.  As a result WHAT A JIMTRIK fell and inconvenienced LAKODA GOLD who was following.  Approaching the home turn NASHO GEOFF faltered losing ground over the concluding stages.

 

The greyhound WHAT A JIMTRIK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound NASHO GEOFF was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off fore foot and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 4

KAWATI LEE, WALLOON WARRIOR and GRACEFUL ATTACK collided at the start losing ground.  Entering the back straight BLUE CAVIAR fell when checking off the heels of KAWATI LEE.  Approaching the top turn SOUTH WESTERLY shifted out hampering the run of SPRING DORA when unable to negotiate the turn.

 

The greyhound SOUTH WESTERLY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 5

STAR JOHN was slow to begin.  HOT TIGER and LITTLE MERV collided shortly after the start.  STAR JOHN galloped on the heels of LITTLE MERV rounding the top turn.

 

Race 6

SOLD IT, MAYWYN’S FANCY, JIMI CHEWS SHOES and RYLEE’S EBONY were tight and bumping after the start.  BLACK MARY dwelt at the start.

 

Race 7

HOT SUNDAY and MAYWYN’S FUTURE bumped at the start.  KIPENZI shifted out through the catching pen hampering the run of THROPE who was on its outside.

 

Race 8

BIG FUN was slow to begin.  VIS checked off the heels of BIG FUN entering the home straight on the 1st occasion.  In the back straight VIS and PRAWNTASTIC both bumped losing ground.

 

Race 9

FAWN STAR, BREAKER BLUE, MAYWYN’S DREAM and BIDJA were tight and bumping after the start all losing some ground.

 

Race 10

CHARMED SPEED and TWO UP TUFFY bumped at the start.  CLAPPIN’ NOVA and CRAZY BOMB were slow to begin.
