Even start. On the 1st turn as a result of JESSICA’S STAR shifting ground off the inside BOND FIRE was hampered whilst SPOT THE FOOL was turned sideways and lost ground. A short distance later BELLE ROUGE was checked when BOND FIRE shifted ground inwards. JESSICA’S STAR tired over the concluding stages.
SHADES OF GREY, HAPPY HEART and REGENCY BEAU were all slow to begin. Shortly afterwards BLONDE WAYS and FOOL’S FLASH collided heavily resulting in FOOL’S FLASH to be turned sideways. At the same stage HALARNEY FLYER and RAYLEEN BOND collided heavily which resulted in HALARNEY FLYER to lose significant ground. Approaching the catching pen RAYLEEN BOND was checked by SHADES OF GREY which resulted in RALYEEN BOND to become unbalanced and almost fall losing considerable ground. Approaching the 600m boxes RAYLEEN BOND raced greenly shifted ground very wide on the track and lost ground.
Race 3
Even start. Approaching the catching pen CLICKER clipped the heels of LITTLE PUZZLE which resulted in both these runners to become unbalanced and lose ground. Approaching the 600m boxes when racing in a rearward position CLICKER improved onto the heels of GLASSHOUSE BLUE and dragged that runner down resulting in both runners to almost fall and take no further competitive part in the event. Approaching the home turn when attempting to improve on the inside of DIM THING, COOL ZINGER was checked and almost fell. After entering the home straight CRONIN STATE and DIM THING both shifted ground and bumped which resulted in CRONIN STATE to be turned sideways. These 2 runners then continued to race tight for a majority of the home straight.
Race 4
WORK IN PROGRESS was slow to begin. Shortly after the start as a result of SUNDANCE FAIRWAY shifting ground off the inside MISS LIBBY, SHESA MONA, LITTLE BOND and SISTER COOL were all checked. Passing the catching pen LITTLE BOND was tightened for room between SISTER COOL and MISS LIBBY and lost ground. Approaching the 600m boxes SISTER COOL shifted ground inwards and as a result tightened the racing room of SHESA MONA.
Race 5
In general tightening shortly after the start both BACK HALF YOURS and LONG TIME GONE lost ground. In a general scrimmage on the 1st turn HURRY UP HAYDN and SHE’S JAKE’S were checked whilst PARRA STATE was severely checked and lost ground. After entering the home straight both MONZA MAGIC and SHE’S JAKE’S raced tight.
Race 6
Both GO MAKATAM and JAGOAN were slow to begin. Approaching the bottom turn BEAU LASS commenced to shift ground off the inside and as a result hampered HITECH O’FIVE, GO MAKATAM and TARZANE’S GIRL all of which lost ground. Approaching the catching pen when vying for the lead both CEDE NULLIS and EM RODD collided resulting in both runners to become unbalanced. Approaching the 600m boxes JAGOAN shifted ground inwards and collided with GOTTA BE BOND then shifted ground outwards and hampered HITECH O’FIVE for some distance. After entering the home straight BEAUT LASS checked off the heels of HITECH O’FIVE and swung wide on the track. EM RODD tired over the concluding stages.
Race 7
Even start. Approaching the catching pen PLAYING TRICKS steadied off the heels of CLARRIE EARLY and lost ground. A short distance later as a result of both SMOKEY GIRL and CLARRIE EARLY shifting ground CASUAL MAK became unbalanced and was turned sideways whilst CLARRIE EARLY was checked.
Race 8
FAST MOVER BURNS was slow to begin. Approaching the 600m boxes ADANDE was tightened for room between AZASTAR and FAST MOVER BURNS and lost ground. Approaching the home turn SHEZA LOBO checked off the heels of KISSIN’ MAKE IT swung wide on the track and hampered both HERMAN I AM and AZASTAR.
Race 9
Even start. In general tightening on the 1st turn HEY DAD, YOUR ENCHANTING and JOLLY JESS all lost ground. Approaching the home turn MADDY ‘S DIAMOND eased of it’s own accord. After entering the home straight when racing in a rearward position HEY DAD checked off the heels of YOUR ENCHANTING and swung very wide on the track.
The trainer of MADDY’S DIAMOND Mr. John Edwards was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (1) (b) and as a result stood down at Ipswich for a period of 28 days plus be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial.
Race 10
FUNDY FELLA began awkwardly whilst CLASSIC ATTITUDE, BANTAM FIRE and EAGLEHAWK JOE all collided shortly after the start. Passing the catching pen MYSTERY MAYHEM was checked and lost ground when CITY TRAIN shifted ground outwards. Approaching the 600m boxes SHAKE IT BABY was tightened for room shifted ground wider on the track and lost ground. After entering the home straight when racing in a rearward position SHAKE IT BABY and BANTAM FIRE bumped.
